NYMC – National Youth Ministry Convention
The National Youth Ministry Convention is a bi-annual four-day event held on the tip of the beautiful Gold Coast. It is aimed at local church Youth Leaders & Pastors, Chaplains and Teachers. The convention has become Australia's premier Youth Ministry Convention bringing together some of the world's most inspirational, challenging and practical speakers. The 2015 NYMC will feature two professional development seminars, four main sessions, a new Super Session and seven elective streams with twenty two speakers and forty eight topics to choose from. And if that isn't enough for you, there will be loads of time to hit the beach, connect with others and access some of the most innovative youth ministry resources at the NYMC expo.
Nationally Accredited Youth Ministry Studies
Youth Vision Australia in partnership with Australian College of Ministries and Stirling Theological College offer 4 quality online youth ministry subjects that have been developed by some of Australia's leading and most experienced Youth Pastors & Leaders.
Foundations for Youth Ministry
In youth ministry we tend to reproduce what we grew up in unless we go through a paradigm shift to help us think differently about how to best minister to this post-modern generation.
The aim of this unit is to bring about a shift in paradigm and enable the student to think outside the box in terms of ministry to young people in the 21st Century. This unit will not offer a model of ministry to be copied, but rather ideas and principles applicable to many different contexts and tools to evaluate and implement these principles.
Developing a Youth Ministry
Our primary objective in youth ministry must be authentic life-change and real spiritual growth and development in the lives of the young people and leaders we are ministering to. It stands to reason, then, that, if we don't know what we are aiming for, if we can't describe it, articulate it, see it, we'll never hit it. This unit provides guidelines for discipleship, mentoring and training of young people and youth leaders, with emphasis on building student leaders.
Culture & Context of Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry is an awesome responsibility. The youth minister and his/her team is required to not only have a handle on the rapidly shifting sands of youth culture, but also on the deep issues that affect young people. This unit seeks to enable students to understand young people and the Australian culture, while equipping them to provide care to youth and their families.
Youth Ministry and Personal Growth
Youth Ministers are required to be "jacks-of-all-trades" – program director, spiritual director, financial director, team developer and counsellor. With so many "hats" it is crucial that the youth minister has a balanced life in order to assure long-term ministry and to prevent burnout.
These subjects are offered online each year and supported by intensives conducted at various locations around Australia.
